Bucket list

A while ago I posted on Facebook that I had completed my bucket list, my supplemental bucket list, and my supplemental supplemental bucket list. Some of my friends were intrigued by this and asked me to share my list with them. Ah, I had never written the actual lists down before (at least, not in the one place); it was all just in my head or on random notebook pages which were goodness knows where! So I decided to put pen to paper and compose the list properly.

What I initially thought would be an easy task turned out to be much larger than I had anticipated. Putting the list together I realised I had done a lot in my life, and that people might be daunted by reading a list with over 500 items!

Reflecting on my list I saw that it had grown exponentially over the years. What started as a small list of things I wanted to achieve and experience expanded as I completed the items and as I continued to find new experiences and challenges. I see the importance of continuing to challenge yourself and to reach for your dreams, and I am always looking for new things to do to enrich my life or to push myself that little bit further.

So here it is – my bucket list. I have completed all 240 items on this list. The list doesn’t contain everything that I have done; it is just a snapshot of some of my favourite achievements, or things that mean a lot to me to have completed. I have a much larger list which contains many more items (including the more risqué items that are not for public consumption!).

For ease of reference I have broken the list into relevant sections. Get me, being organised!

I hope this list may provide you with some inspiration.

Life is short – make the most of it!

  1. You had tea with the Queen?!

    • Hi Amanda

I sure did. I attended a garden party at Buckingham Palace hosted by the Queen and Prince Phillip. I got to see the lovely lady in person and she seemed very nice. There was tea and all sorts of yummy goodies (including cucumber sandwiches). There were about 1000 or so guests, so it was just us, but she did her best to get around to a lot of people. It was a great day. One of my favourite things. Thanks for reading my list – I hope you found it inspiring.

  2. Wow. we have way too many things in common on the list. You reminded me of so many I missed out on, most importantly, playing Madame Thenadier in Les Miserables as well as seeing it on the Westend and done in France (or at least performed in French). I love the challenge you’ve set yourself too. What a fantastic thing to do. I hope you can make your peace with your hometown before you journey off again and I’m so pleased you chose to spend those months with your Dad. He obviously raised a pretty amazing daughter. Thanks so much for sharing. 🙂

    • Hi Livvy. Thanks so much for your lovely comments. I really appreciate it. I have found a lot of strength and comfort in the kind words people have offered in the last months. It really does make a world of different to hear such things, so thank you for taking the time to share.

I thought we seemed very similar when I read your soul list! I really hope that you get to achieve all that you wish too and I look forward to reading about your adventures.

  3. This is fantastic Bec- truly inspirational.

I am loving the blog and also keen to start a bucket list of my own. I’m so pleased you are making the most out of living in Bundaberg! If anyone can find the adventure in the town, I am sure you can.

    xx

    • Thanks Cholena! Your feedback means a lot. I am so happy to hear that you like the blog. I really just started it for myself, and have been really surprised at all of the feedback I have been getting! Thanks for letting me know 🙂

Also thrilled that you are going to start a bucket list. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Such a great feeling to do something that you have always wanted to do, and also such fun finding new and interesting things to do.

I am definitely do my best to find the adventures here, that’s for sure!!!!!

Thanks again. Your words and support mean a lot xo
